SOME FACTS TO LEARN ABOUT MA’DIS

In respond to David Aju Kanyara and Ma'di concerned article to respond to Lobong's attack of threats on Ma'di people.

Hi David Aju,

December 13-2015, by TT. Shaka: Thank you so much for being there always to inform not just the Ma’dis but all the peace loving  South Sudanese about what happens in our land. At any rate, I would like you to take a note of this. Any animal that goes back to its vomit is totally defeated and can no longer think. Have Ma’dis reached that stage?    To the best of my knowledge, they haven’t yet. Ma’dis don’t regret of the past but to go forwards. Yes, you gave your daughter to Lobong and voted him to the office, these are all the past. What is new in your mind now that counts to solve the prevailing situations facing us currently?

Let me refresh your mind with a few facts about Ma’dis. Before the Ma’dis got to where they are now, they fought great wars along the way. Azande were the first people to settle in South Sudan followed by the Madi and they lived side-by-side with each other. The Nilotic groups like the Dinka, Nuer, Shiluk, Jur and others arrived after them. Ma’dis today is the products of many of the tribes they met along the way and all that surrounded them. Because the Ma’dis were fierce fighters and had a lot of livestock and crop produce, many tribes bartered their females to them as they could provide security and food. The animals that the Dinkas are proud of now, some of them came from the Ma’dis.  Ma’dis diversified their agricultural systems due to tsetse fly infestation which caused a disease called “Trypanosomiasis - Sleeping sickness.” After the Ma’di lost almost all their animals, they then decided to give up livestock before they left Maridi [which in ma’di meant, I am staying here or I am not going anywhere].

Ma’di was the largest tribe before the split to Muro, Kaliko, Lulubo, Log, Avukaya, Lugbwara and more. Today, anybody who knows Ma’di language can identify origin of names and places. Ma’dis are found all over South Sudan. Can people like Igga and Konga deny that their ancestry is Ma’dis? If history is true and that there was migration from north to south, then Nelson Mandera Madiba was a Ma’di. [Mandera means I am tired and Madiba means Ma’di person or a person from Ma’di] In most Bantu languages, the letter “r” is not used but instead they use the letter “l” that is why they write, Mandela.  Can it be a coincidence that two of the names of Nelson Mandela Madiba are in Ma’di? Could it be by chance that in Southern Africa, there should also be some Ma’di clans? In some of their languages for example you will find clans among Ma’di such as, Ebiba, Moiba, Itopele etc.

The Ma’dis have in their vocabulary that the dog you raised will one day bit you. What do you do to that kind of a dog? The only thing I guess you can do is to tame it.  You brought Lobong to power and Southerners brought Kiir to power, what have they done? Lobong, Kiir and many others who brought hell to the Southerners will go to their graves unchanged from all the ills they are doing. Tell Kiir and Lobong, and the JCD, an insect as tiny as it is, can kill an elephant.

Dear Monyomigi and the Arrow Boys, while you pin down the tail of the snake, go for the head before it turns on you and empties all the poison [venom] in you.  Of course unless you dance the music together from east to west and north to South, your music will carry no meaning. If our elders have fought the Arabs with one or two guns, and got the rest from the enemy, why can’t we do that with our own brothers who turned to be the enemy?

No one can pretend to be safe in South Sudan if you are not a member of Kiir’s Demons. Kiir is doing the same thing the North did on the Southerners.  His main aim is to intimidate those whom he suspects to be a threat to his ruling. Individuals are taken tortured and even killed. This particularly applied to those educated. This is not the time north Vs south but Jieng Demons Vs the rest in the South.

Incidentally, don’t think that Kiir and his Demons will ever listen to EU, UN, USA, IGAD and anyone. It’s only you Southerners to free yourself from the bondage or never. Kiir and his Demons are already possessed and can’t see anything good. All they see is evil. Ask me later if you don’t believe. You will be lucky if the agreement is implemented.

Good luck and keep dreaming.

T.T. Shaka
