IMMINENT MASSCRE IS LOOMING IN YEI AS KIIR DEPLOYED HEAVY FORCES TO FIGHT NAS

Yei, 31 January 2019; The regime of Salva Kiir is messing its military to Yei in preparation to launch an all-out war against holdout armed opposition forces under the leadership of former SPLA deputy chief of staff. Lt General Thomas Cirilo Swaka.

Sources within South Sudan army confirmed to SSLN that Juba has been moving heavily military equipment with massive forces. According to the military sources who was speaking from Yei town revealed that forces have been drawn from frontlines mainly from Unity state, Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Aweil, and other safer regions.

He further warns of imminent massacre and genocide against civilians who are non-Dinka residing in Yei River state. The senior officer who asked for his identity to be withheld said a decisive battle will be fought and this will be a battle between Equatorians and Dinka.

He added that since Kiir signed a peace agreement with Machar, the Machar's Nuer tribe are viewed as less threat by Juba, while General Thomas Cirilo and his group is seen as a potential threat to economic development of Dinka, therefore the Jieng Council of elders with the generals want General Thomas’s NAS to be wideout.

A concerned citizen who spoke to this reporter from Yei on Thursday before filing this report said several trucks loaded with Dinka militia group known as Mathing Angoor have been arriving in Yei daily starting from 15 January, he said he has also seen heavy military trucks loaded with Tanks, and soldiers patrolling on Pickup Toyota mounted with heavy machine guns.

However, South Sudan Liberty cannot independently verify this, the peace monitoring body of Revitalized Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC) confirmed the build-up of forces by both sides.
